Okay, went to QBI, got paperwork, got assigned to a PhD student, gotta go in on Monday for induction, went home etc.

A more pressing problem is at hand: the bathroom door's locked itself, and there's no way in.

I could break down the door, but it would be expensive to replace.
  • Find tools to smash door
  • Face mother's wrath when she gets home
I could climb up the watertank and climb in through the window. But that's dangerous.
  • Find an object to help me get on the watertank
  • Find something to prevent feet from burning off
  • Open bathroom window
Hmm, the door looks like it has a keyhole of sorts. I should start with that.
  • Find a key that fits - no keys
    • Find any object that fits
      • Found scissors!
        • Level complete!

Shit. Should have gone to the toilet at Toowong. Hey, I still have the bus ticket...

Right, everything's cool now. Haha.

Aaarghh, piano exam was a disaster. And I got one of those old and most likely picky examiners.

Endless complaining, but still no emo poetry. )

It's finally over!

I have now graduated from tertiary education. Yay.

Everyone pretty much slept through today. Lecture was about chemical safety, first two lab were sensory testing, third lab was food chemistry. We got to eat mango sorbet, which was nice.

Dr Violent played a really good game with us, where we had to ask 20 questions to guess what compound/element he was. We failed the first one, but got the second one thanks to Choir Nerd Lookalike.

Somehow caught the Redbank train at Roma St today, which meant that I could sit in Toowong Library for half an hour.

The bus came early, which was nice. Just as it left, a Somerville girl came out of one of the nearby shops and was like, D:

Now to concentrate on piano.

A bit less boring

Ahh, nearly missed the train this morning!

Lecture was about quality control/assurance. First lab session was a discussion of anatomy.

Second one was a lot better - blood typing. People were scared of poking holes in their fingers, but it really didn't hurt at all. Most other people had a hard time squeezing blood out. Anyway, I got A negative. I am disappointed.

Third lab was forensic stuff, like blood and drug testing. That was pretty good.

Got our timetables for next year today as well. Most people's were screwed up, with wrong subjects and stuff.

Why are the Ipswich trains always so packed? If I had a longer nose, it would have been snapped off by the doors.

Oooh, Glee on tonight.

Agar makes me hungry

yay
Yay, another day.

Lecture was about teamwork, and then a movie about salmonella. It was kind of funny, but I think kids here can get laughs out of anything.

Unfortunately we didn't have the awesome scientists for the prac sessions, just the old teacher lady. It was alright, I guess. The bunsen burners were epic. The flames were about 30cm tall.

Hyper Girl owes me a lot of chips now. A box of chips with gravy costs $4.50, same as an iced coffee. Boo. But the coffee at that place costs $5.50, WTF.

Good quote from the Asians today.

Girl 1: (looks at drawing) Woow, you must have a lot of time for drawing. Hey, where's the "D" in your name come from anyway?
Girl 2: They call her CD because she always listens to music in class!
Girl 1: Really? Do the teachers let her or something?
Girl 3: No, you know that jacket she always wears? She puts her earbuds through a sleeve and leans on her hand like this. *does actions*
Girl 1: Whoa!
Girl 2: Yeah, she's always listening to music and drawing. And she gets straight A's!
Girl 3: She always has those headphones around her neck and she gets good grades! I should try that.

O-okay. o_O Profile page worthy?

Oh noes, piano exam in one week from today! And I don't know my extra pieces, eeeeep.

$100 dollars per day, coffee extra

  • Nov. 24th, 2009 at 5:49 PM
umm
Got to the place way too early this morning, so I had a coffee. Which was $4.50. Christ. But now, I am a real IB student! :D

Lecture was funny. It was about preventing the spread of infection. What did I learn? Don't shake hands with people, and don't drink from the same glass as someone else. Huh.

Microscopes were fun. I found some wriggly oval thing in my pond water.

The agar cultures didn't grow anything, somehow. Probably because we did it wrong.

The scientists were cool as usual. They wanted us to go out early but the teachers wouldn't let us.

Trip home was hell, because there were hardly any trains, and the bus was late. There were heaps and heaps of State High people. Nobody I know takes the train. :( All Asians seem to take the bus for some reason. Probably because they all live in the Asian suburbs.

Some girl that I don't think I know keeps emailing me. I don't think I know any other Sophies, at least. Or an Isabella. Do I?

Playing this. It's very flashy.

Corned Beef

EDIT: Gwen wants me to mention that last night we had our first epic virtual drawing club. AND WHERE THE HELL WAS SOPHIE??!!! D:

Those huge black crows were trying to kill me on the way to school. Thank God I had a hat today. I guess I'll need to wear it every day now. And I should have an umbrella or something else that can be a weapon.

I had Bio, which was really boring because it was mostly the teacher checking the test papers of all the people who were complaining. And Chem, which was pretty good. Organic chem is so confusing that it's funny.

At lunch the Asians had a session of complaining about how Queensland is the dumbest state, fattest state, etc. Special guest was Hyper Girl, who came because all of her friends were watching dramas. I had a corned beef sandwich, which looked like crap, tasted like tuna, and smelled like pet food.

Then I had French. The first thing the teacher did was get angry at us for going to see Madame French on Tuesday. I facepalmed, and Pommie asked if I was feeling alright. The teacher told me to go to the office and get a panadol. I said, "No, it's alright," but she wouldn't accept that so I left. A girl quietly mentioned that they're not allowed to give drugs, so I made a quick decision to just go home.

And I slept for three hours and missed Josh Thomas on Ready Steady Cook. :( Oh, and I missed Maths and English, and Thin Eng was going to talk to me about my crappy essay today. Maths was just graphs, so meh.

Oh crap, I missed Mentoring. It has been decreed by the gods that I shall never go to Mentoring. :P But anyway, I got a quick glimpse of my French test paper and I got A-. I have no idea how.

Internet is crap, so I'm going to do something else now, I guess.

(no cut because editor is being stupid)

...actually tastes quite good when it's fried.

House seems to be getting better. For the last few episodes, I've been pausing it halfway through and doing something else because I got bored (usually of Cameron or Foreman), but I managed to get through the whole thing in one go this episode. Short attention span is short.

One Piece is going so sloowwww. And I think there's less pages each week these days. Geez.

Ahh, my World Lit draft is due tomorrow. I was planning on handing in some random crap, but apparently this term's grade is based on our drafts. Oh no. I have no idea what I'm doing. And I can't do it at school because my printer card doesn't work. D:

But I've already got my materials for my Psych assignment! But no idea on how I'm doing it yet. The teacher's giving us time in class tomorrow, so I'll just steal someone else's idea. Though I think everyone's planning to do that.

I think I have heaps of French homework too. Which means that I'll have to finish World Lit tonight, and do French tomorrow morning. Whee, five hours of sleep tonight, I think.

Multiple choice tests are the best. Especially when all of the questions come from a set provided.

I could just drop dead right now and I wouldn't care. )

Tomorrow will be a good day. Choir, double Bio, double Maths, and Awards Night rehearsal.

Damn you music

  • Oct. 12th, 2009 at 5:41 PM

I had the strangest dream last night. I was at school, and the crazy english teachers were running around and throwing flyers. It was funny for some reason. Then some other stuff happened (I remember something about lasagne, Post-it notes, and being surprised that the school owned a helicopter) and I somehow ended up pushing the music teacher off a balcony. Okay. We don't even have a balcony at school.

Obviously it all has to mean something. )

I was a choir nerd before it became cool.

Yay, choir. Hardly anyone turned up, we started with ony me, Exec, Alto, Hyper, Nerd and Tenor. The teacher came late as usual, and Hyper was trying to work on her World Lit. I was talking about Psychology with Choir Nerd. Mr H turned up at about quarter-to. I started a conversation about Glee with everyone. Then Choir Nerd told Mr H that the choir should enter a competition, and everyone agreed.
What's solfege? )

The bio teacher was away today AGAIN! I seriously wonder how many lessons in total we've had with him. He's never here. But because of that, our exam got moved to next week, so I guess it's not too bad. We're way behind Dr Fish's class though, which irritates me.

We haven't even started the new unit in Chem yet. He talked about IA's again, and we got another assignment. D: A harder one this time, and he actually wants it submitted into Turnitin. Oh no.

French was the usual. Idiot Boy is leaving at the end of the week. Hurrah, I never have to work with him again. Most of today was reading about the French education system. Sounds as bad as Asia. The homework is really funny too; I have to write a description of Hogwarts, and what subjects Hermione does. That's going to take forever.

I love Maths SL. It's so easy. The people in the class are kind of stupid, and we spent pretty much all of today's lesson revising. The teacher hasn't even bothered giving us homework. Apparently one class has only just started logarithms. Fail. However, I heard that they might scrap the mid(*cough*)-term test, and make the block exam worth 100% of the term's grade. That's scary.

English, was... eh. The teacher, who is really random, put us in order of our middle names and assigned everyone a spot they have to stay in for the whole term. I'm next to Car Girl and the new kid. Just came from CI today, apparently a singer. His voice does have that weird whiny quality to it.

Tomorrow is going to be a good day. Choir (hopefully), double Bio (and the teacher promised he'd be here), double Maths (zzzzzz), Chem (atomic structure) and Psych (zzzzz, because I already know about the brain).

And Glee tonight!

Smelly maths rooms

I was in the maths block for almost the whole day. Ugh, they smell funny. But the school's courtyard smells like crap, literally.

Today I... )

Sigh. I can hear my mum talking to one of the neighbours. It takes her an awful long time to remember that I'm 15. And she's complaining that I don't go outside enough.

Gasp! One of the books the Eng Anticipated people are getting is The Importance of Being Earnest. I hope we get that too.

Television

Holy crap, how many [info]fandomsecrets posts have there been today? And LJ's been offline for a few hours too.

Umm, ahh, what's the point of this post? I wanted to complain about today's TV not being as good as it used to. But I don't think I have a right to do that, since "back then" I was just a kid, and didn't really think very much. Haha. I'm also pissed off because my laptop's middle button (used for scrolling) is not working. It randomly does that.

Last night's episode of Glee was really good. I actually did laugh a few times. And I think the teacher's getting slightly less boring. Probably because all he did in this episode was dance and sing. Yay. And more focus on the weird characters is good.

I also watched House. That wasn't too bad. The whole new team being fired? Huh. Geez, I wish they'd get rid of Foreman, he's been around for too long. POTW was annoying, but that was the whole point. And I totally knew that House would be the one to solve the case. Hey, when is Channel Ten going to start showing it on TV again anyway?

I am looking at the TV guide. Channel Ten is stupid, they're reruning the stuff that was on Wednesday tonight. What's the point? As much as I love Josh Thomas, Masterchef is pretty boring when you know who's going to win.

Hey, wait a moment, GO! has The Flintsones on at 6! And this guide even shows the little music breaks that SBS has.

Back to being angry. There's freaking 50 to 1 tonight on Nine. And a movie on at 9:30. Fail.

And I don't want to leave the house tomorrow because I want to watch Creative Generation. Even though I've seen the whole thing live about five times already. Sigh. I'm sure the music teacher's going to ask about it.

My house always gets random mail adressed to the people who used to live here. Even though it's been a year since they left.

Anyway, there's this letter in a UQ envelope, with "ELECTION PAPERS: Strictly Confidential". I bet it's got something to do with the mess I saw at UQ last week. And I want to open it. So badly.

I'll fish it out of the bin when my mother accidentally chucks it out. :D

Right now I'm doing my Bio notes. Not really.
